The bfa Anura is a fully inflatable ascent hood fitted with a two stage relief valve. Tested at an escape depth of 100m and fully compatible with submarines operating the Steinke Hood Escape System the bfa Anura is suitable for use in Trunk or Rush Escapes. Compact and easily transportable the bfa Anura is ideal for movement around a submersed vessel.

Buoyancy Stole

• The single compartment buoyancy stole is equipped with a two-stage relief valve ensuring the exit of surplus air during ascent.
• On the surface, it can be manually set to a higher pressure to cope with movements of the survivor and the waves.

Inflation System

• The buoyancy stole is inflated from a compressed air cylinder (1litre/200barr) which is fitted to the ascent hood on the right side.
• Air from the cylinder passes through a filter and through a non-return valve into the stole, reducing the return of CO2 to the end user and the possibility of C02 poisoning.

Ascent Hood

• The ascent hood is made of a single layer of airtight polyurethane for a maximum lifetime of 10 years, even in extreme climatic environments and under high pressures similar to those found in a submersed environment.
• The hood collects the air that is vented through the relief valves of the lifejacket and is made available to the survivor during ascent.
• The hood is closed at the front by an air and watertight zipper with a pear shaped window offering good vision in a forward and upward direction.

Waist Belt with padded Crotch Strap

• The lifejacket is secured to the waist using a waist belt and a padded crotch strap all fastened by interlocking buckles.
• The crotch strap incorporates a lifting loop at the back of the headrest for manual recovery from the water.

• A beacon pocket for an emergency radio.
• A neoprene hood providing additional thermal protection around the head can be packed into the valise.

Storage & Servicing

• The bfa Anura valise is made from foam padded PU coated nylon for optimal protection. Inside the bfa Anura is hermetically sealed in an envelope to shield it from environmental conditions.
• Both the valise and the envelope have a rip strip beneath the zip ensuring that submariners have quick and easy
  access to the suit in an emergency situation.
• The bfa Anura has a proven in service life of 10 years.
• The bfa Anura is fitted with a compressed air cylinder which requires regular inspections. These inspections can be completed through a window built into both the valise and the hermetically sealed envelope without opening either of the two packages.
• A training model is also available, suitable for multiple use.
